Abstract
The second "green" direction used in metallurgy is domain-free production of semi-finished products for steel production by direct recovery of high-iron ore raw materials using special technologies
(Midrex, Arex, HYL, etc.). As metallized raw materials - hot briquetted iron (HBI), metallized logs DRI (Direct Reduced Iron), sponge iron is received at the output. As these are products with a high iron content of up to 99%, they can be used immediately in the steelmaking process. Currently, replacement of scrap iron and other iron-containing materials used in electro steel smelting with reclaimed iron is beginning to develop. The effectiveness of using directly purchased iron ore logs has been proven. However, the technology of buying iron-rich logs with less harmful impurities requires high energy resources.
