Abstract
The Caspian Sea, the world's largest enclosed inland water body, is characterized by complex wind and wave regimes that play a significant role in its hydrodynamic processes. Wind-driven waves significantly influence coastal dynamics, sediment transport, the stability of offshore infrastructure, and environmental conditions. Spatial and temporal variability of wind regimes over the Caspian Sea is determined by regional atmospheric circulation, seasonal climatic factors, and the elongated geometry of the basin, resulting in different wave characteristics in the northern, central, and southern sub-basins. This study analyzes the wind and wave regimes of the Caspian Sea using meteorological and oceanographic data to determine prevailing wind directions, wave heights, and seasonal variability. Particular attention is given to the influence of longitude, water depth, and bathymetric conditions on wave development.
